I was under the impression you could just use Casvisor without having to use any auth say for example I just intended to use it in my lan only.
@hsluoyz what country is the demo instance hosted in? Turns out I had to do some magic to get casdoor's demo to load since its in singapore but like I don't see how I would get the demo instance to work with my casvisor so I guess I'm learning casdoor maybe.
okay I'm getting a bit further with casvisor but it keeps trying to direct me to casdoor which I'm not intending to use.
how do I get it to stop looking to direct me to any oauth Im going to be the only user.
I have db and guacd up but discords char limit is too small.

I mean this should be a reflex its almost inexcusable these days to not read logs if you have dyslexia or something you can still use GPT3.5 for free as far as I can tell.
The context windows are so huge in LLM's these days you almost don't have to read logs anymore.
If you don't trust the public ones which I don't blame you you can usually use ollama fairly successfully
@celio_63712 I'm not volunteering for getting you into understanding docker but often when you deploy a container sometimes it won't see the new hash on the registry of the new updated container so you have to do things like docker compose pull docker compose up --force-recreate (don't trust my syntax on this google them first) but like theres also the non compose version docker pull etc.
So like I'm still kind of operating under an assumption here but for SSH'ing into anything via Guacd if you use Guacamole you're still restricted to using rsa keys which are on the cusp of being deprecated due to their theoretical vulnerability to Quantum Factoring via Shores ed25519 is marginally more quantum resistant theoretically one of the reasons I don't prioritize getting Guacd in any capacity online is purely this if Casvisor could somehow include ed25519 and other more modern crypto and not just RSA that would put this on the top of my priorities.
Well I'm not sure if I'm super excited I can probably muddle my way through the docs here but do we think that the docker container for casvisor could have a couple of initial configuration defaults like auto compiling a number of random strings for the default config if the config doesn't currently exist?
I've gotten to a point here where I'm able to get this in the console. I had figured due to the lack of envvars inthe casvisor container that it was vaguely functional out of the box. I shouldnt have made that assumption.

I'm not sure what front end it's referring to in https://casvisor.org/docs/basic/try-with-docker I'm mostly functional it seems here but still no joy if you can't have environment strings that set config variables on container start it kind of blow and causes dumb questions in the discord like mine.
Well so there are no instructions for docker swarm but I’ve changed basically nothing from the default docker compose when prepping it for swarm it’s all being hosted ON the same machine even
@hsluoyz hate to ping, you sound like the expert for Casvisor on here
I have a brand new casvisor install but getting
panic: unsupported driver name:
goroutine 1 [running]:

This seems to not be on github under the issues.
@hsluoyz I'm guessing you're the casvisor maintainer possibly?
I submitted a PR to the docker-compose file that's in the repository it may not be useful but has some modernizations in it which could be of beneift. https://github.com/casvisor/casvisor/pull/94
One of the main questions I would have about the compose that I've tweaked is what port 3000 was doing and why would you expose 19000 when according to the documentation the UI is on port 16001. Other than that I think the PR might be useful.
nope you got me to my answer.
I was just curious about casvisor I found out about it on my way out the door headed to the gym and now I'm back I had some time to ask some questions and reach some clarity thanks again!
I just didn't want to sink a pile of time learning that this tool had a hard dependency on Casdoor since its seemingly in the same ecosystem denoted by the naming convention that I know none of the history of as a fresh arrival.
I just basically needed some stupid questions to be asked and answered and you saved me a pile of time.
Casdoor is something I read the name of in a reddit post and it was entirely opaque to me what the crossover might be and I was hoping for that clarity and you helped out its wonderful thanks
Sure I and I can understand why you'd be confused about that but I didn't come to this place coming through the front door I found Casvisor first that's all.
It looks like this compose stack actually doesn't show a dependency on casdoor? https://github.com/casvisor/casvisor/blob/master/docker-compose.yml
I wouldn't mind I suppose but like from what I understand and please correct me if I'm way off target Casvisor is a replacment for Guacamole?
lol I just mean I have a traefik middleware that's using my Authelia setup I imagine it would be wasteful probably to switch just for one app when I have like 50 in prod.
Thanks for the fast replies though.
I've recently stumbled into learning about Casvisor and realize it could possibly be a replacement for Guacamole (unless I fundamentally misunderstand what this is) can it be done without a hard dependency of taking on an entirely new authentication system I currently am fairly heavy into Authelia and Cadvisor does look pretty slick the switch would be chaos.
I misunderstood what this discord was I thought it was focused fully on Casvisor
so to be more precise is it possible to run Casvisor without additional auth? I'm really hoping that I don't have to dive too far to try the tool out and I'm already fairly heavy into Authelia
I'm just curious if this is going to allow me to run it without authentication in basically a single user mode I am hoping that this is possible since Guacamole is kinda aweful to run and doesn't support modern SSH. I already have Authelia running via Traefik as a middleware and I was hoping to not have to learn another tooling entirely.
