Use user ID instead of owner/user format in Casbin API subject

Hi!
In the exposed casbin API is there any way to use the user's ID instead of /?
I do not find this logical, why use a changeable string instead of an immuteble ID, which identifies the user? Or is there other usecases, where the sub is a different resource from a user?
